Sorry Everybody....

I guess that I need to apologize to everyone. I have been really busy this recently with work and the holidays, and I haven't been able to post anything. I intended to, but I never had any time until now. So....

Sorry everybody....

I am kind of sad. Several of the Blogs that I read have not been updated in a while. Both Mike-san and Oji have not written (Mike might be busy with the Wii....), and my favorite, Waiter Rant ( http://www.waiterrant.net ), has been down for repairs. I guess I can't really say anything. It has been almost 2 weeks since my last post.

I had the last few days off, and it was a great vacation. Chie is now gone :-( I visited my parents and the rest of my odd family. I even ventured out shopping the day after Thanksgiving. It was terrible. I woke up and went to Best Buy at 7:00 AM with the intention of buying a new computer. It was on sale for $180, but when I got to the store, there was already about 50 people in the line for the computer section. I looked around for a couple of minutes before giving up. I guess I should have been there at 4:00 AM like some people (yeah, you know who I'm talking about....). Even with all the crap that I dealt with, it was nice to have a couple of days off.

Iku Iku Byo....

Iku Iku Byo .....

This has to be one of the strangest diseases out there. In case you've never heard of it before, thats the Japanese name. Apparently there are a lot of women in Japan that suffer from it. Basically these people have orgasms all day long: any time they go to the bathroom, if they get bumped on the train, sometimes just standing there. They can't control it. I have heard of it in the US, but the Japanese name is really funny. Here is a link to a news article about people that suffer from it: http://mdn.mainichi-msn.co.jp/waiwai/news/20061115p2g00m0dm040000c.html

Yesterday, people kept making me drink until the wee hours of the morning, so now I am really tired. Last night was Laura's going away party. She's not actually leaving the city, but she quit her job at the restaurant. She is going to be a cake decorator for Bakers. I think that I will miss working with her.....Hopefully she will get fired and need to come back.....

No definite plans tonight, but there is a disco party at Club Nico that sounds like fun. I think there might be another hottub party sometime this weekend, too.

Haircut....

Everytime I see this, it reminds me of the Killer's song:

He doesn't look a thing like Jesus

but he talks like a gentleman....

Strange, huh....

One Eventful Weekend

An eventful weekend.....

Several times throughout the previous week I found myself in conversations about the new Horseshoe Casino in Council Bluffs. So on Friday, I decided to check out what all the commotion was about. At about 9 PM Yuka, Kotaro, Aya and I left my house and headed across the bridge to CB town. Let me just say that I hate Iowa. I try to avoid going there at all costs. The only time I venture into their space is to go to the Casinos or Adult emporium (aka Porn World).

This weekend was not a whole lot different. When we got there, we inspected all of the game tables. Everything was $10 and up. I didn't bring enough money to even start a game there, so we moved on to the slots. By the end of the night, I lost about 40 - 50 dollars on slots and video blackjack. We decided to head back home at about 12.

At my apartment, we stayed up drinking until the wee hours of the morning. Aya drank a whole bottle of wine, but she didn't seem very drunk. I however was extremely inebriated. The next morning Yuka and I needed to wake up early (about 7:30) because she had a class from about 8:00. She made it to the class, but she was feeling soo crappy afterwards that we didn't even go to the hottub party that night, like we planned. I was kind of upset, but hopefully there will be another one this coming weekend.

Only a few students and one principal (principle!!?? lol) committed suicide in Japan, but now there is a huge uproar about bullying in the schools. Hopefully these kids will have started something. I think it is one of the big problems with the Japanese school system. Oh well....At least they don't have people shooting other people a la Columbine.....

Bloody Saturday in Japan

Another month has gone by without a blog entry. I guess I am really bad at this. It's ok, though - no one reads it anyway.

What have I been doing, you ask? Well....Pretty much the same thing I was doing a month ago: working. I actually dropped my Thursday night shift at the restaurant, so I have a little bit more free time. I also started working out almost every day. I would like to lose my beer-belly before next summer. Maybe everyone will be really surprised. Probably not...I don't think anybody will know (or care).

Otherwise my life is still pretty much the same. I am a little older and a little more in debt.
I went to Kansas City a few weeks ago with Yuka. We had a lot of fun and spent a lot of money.
I have also been following this really sad story in the Japanese news: An elementary school student wrote a letter to the Ministry of Education promising to kill himself on Saturday if he keeps getting bullied. Well the MoE published his letter and is trying desperately to find this kid. At the same time, several other children are rallying behind the student and writing similar letters of their own. Everybody is trying to kill themselves on Saturday. I guess we will see what will happen.... (for anyone interested in the whole story, follow this link: http://www.japantoday.com/jp/news/389994 )

I also have been studying Kanji again. I found a really useful site to help with it. When I have time, I will get a link set up....
